The philosopher Marx
once said, "The specter of communism is haunting Europe." In the same
way, the CPI (M) is seeing the specter of People’s War (PW) all around it. The
"Left" Front government has been ruling the State of West Bengal for the last
twenty-five years. Cloaked is the "Left" Front in the shawl of communism. Tongue
speaks revolutionary demagogy, deeds betray an extreme counter revolutionary
anti-people character. In fact, the character of all the parties of the ruling
classes whether they are rightists, leftists or of any other colour, is
anti-people. The history of the various countries of the world, including India,
contains black pages of the atrocities of the ruling classes. In words, the
government of West Bengal is the government of the working people. Its journey
started by drinking the blood of the working people of a small village named
Naxalbari, situated in north Bengal. The red fort that has emerged on the body
of West Bengal is founded on the blood of the working masses, every drop of
which it has slurped in the last twenty-five years. Every corridor of the left
empire is built upon the desiccated bones of the working masses.
Now, the card house
of the "left" Front government lies scattered. The common man has risen up to
challenge the terror of the "left" Front. The cloak of communism has fallen from
the ramparts of its red fort. Bengal too is feeling the waves of people’s war
striking at its soil like in Andhra, Bihar and Dandakarnya. The TMC and BJP, the
alternative duo to the "left" Front, too are encircled. The people have come to
understand that the ruling class parties of various colours won’t hand over
political power to the people through the ballot. They can only have pity. That
is why the people are joining the people’s war (PW) to lay hands on real
political power. Not sitting quietly are the rulers. Marshall laws of the
British times, and the notorious PDA, ESMA, NASA, MISA and TADA black laws of
the Congress times, have given way to POTA and POCA. They seek the drenching of
the revolutionary people’s movement in blood. Thus has arisen the avatar of
Buddhadev from the dust of Sidhartha.
Ah! It is really a
government of the working people. That is why Lalu Shavar of Belpahari doesn’t
have any right to seek two-time bread by grazing his goat and cow. Gaju Mahali
cannot run his house by weaving cane baskets. Lakhi Ram Murmu doesn’t have the
right to protest when he is paid less than his wages. Gurucharan and Krishna Pad
Manid, two brothers hailing from Shani Bandh, are unable to properly feed their
unfortunate old mother despite doing farm work the whole day long. Yadav Mahato
(Shalbani) of Chhagalbana is unable to snatch an hour of sound sleep. Police
tell the arrested "How dare you do potato farming in the Mahato Neighbourhood!"
What nonsense? Ranjit, Ganesh, Lakhi Kant, Devi Singh, arrested now cannot
escape death. Son of a peasant going to college! It is a blatant crime under the
rule of the ‘left’ front government. "How dare you, Raju Patra?" Raju Patra was
a college student belonging to village Goval Tod. Now, this is over. All of you
ought to be in the reform house (those who are used to evil-doings, may call it
a prison) of the ‘left’ government. Every body will come to their senses there.
Beware, Poca (Bengali name of a poisonous insect) is coming! It is neither Majra
Poca nor Shyama Poca (names of two such insects). This Poca (the insect) is the
dreadful POCA (the black law) of the ‘real’ revolutionary Buddhadev
Bhattacharya. This POCA is a more deadly Poca than TADA and POTA. Don’t you have
to stop the people,s war? If the tribals in the villages take up the torch of
people’s war nothing will be left. The CPI (M), the TMC, the BJP, everyone will
be in peril. All the ruling class parties are involved in Hawala, Gawala,
Ayurveda, Urea, Tansi, Wakf property, Alipur Treasury etc., scandals. It is said
that these are not organised crimes. What is cheating then? The people no longer
have faith in the degenerate system. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the whole
country is burning with rage to put up resistance and from resistance to go over
to people’s war. From the BJP to the CPI (M) they are afraid even of the name of
People’s War (PW). Every where there is the people’s war in Darjeeling,
Jalpaigudi, Murshidabad, Mednipur, Chaubis Pargana and Hoogli.
The oppressed masses
are rising against Atal and Buddhadev, POTA and POCA, and all the ruling class
parties. There is nothing else on their mind now. If you oppose or rebel you are
branded terrorists and extremists! From Naxalbari, Kashipur, Baranagar, Arval,
Nelli, Bhagalpur, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, the Northeast to Chhota Angaria the
[rulers have] drenched their hands in people’s blood. There is no law to protect
than against these carnages. From Atal to Buddhadev, everybody is as pure as
milk. The villains who have committed these carnages are great patriots. Say a
word against them and you are put into the dungeon and there is nothing that can
help you. When a worker like Paswan goes missing no POTA or POCA comes to his
help. A pat on the back of the government of the working people!
From Atal to
Buddhadev, all order that the people’s war should be blocked. Just in the
neighbourhood, a people’s war is going on in a small country named Nepal. All
the voting parties have gone into hiding in fear. Nobody will be spared when the
people’s war engulfs this country. The Panchayat elections in West Bengal are
round the corner. Buddhadev has ordered that all political opponents should be
put behind bars. Meanwhile, the police is carrying on a huge campaign of
repression on the people’s war. The inefficient police is finding it difficult
to restrain the people’s war forces. But Buddhadev has picked the pocket of the
Central Government of crores of rupees to control the people’s war. The police
has arrested people like Lalu Shavar, Gaju Mahato, Ajay Mahato, Krishnapad Manid,
Madhusudhan Mahato, Kumud Majhi, Budheshwar Mahato Sulekha, Soren, Mandodri
Sardar to cover up its own failures. The police have slapped 10 to 12 cases on
everyone. They have even arrested women. They have snatched babies from the
bosom of Anchal Mahato and hurled them to the ground. This is how they have
avenged their failure. In place of a man they have arrested his pregnant wife
Sulekha Soren and in place of a son his father Kirit Mahato has been put into
Jail. Ah, what a judicial system is our’s! They have mercilessly beaten the
arrested persons, given them electric shocks, pricked the bottom of their feet
with nails, tortured their private parts, and spat on their faces in a frenzied
way. The policemen, going by the names of Vinit Gopal, Raj Babu and Jayant
Chakarvarti, have received good training doing all this. Another news is that
the police officers have taken pleasure in falsely conde-mning an agricultural labourer
named Chhagal Bagal as a famous terrorist.
This is only arousing
the hatred of the people towards the law agencies and judiciary. The police
officers aspire to get promotion through such dirty tricks and advocates seek to
make money. The families of the people in the jails have become paupers. On the
other hand, the lackeys of the ruling parties are feeling elated. Whosoever
speaks against them is being declared a terrorist or an agent of the ISI. The
police of the ‘left’ front government is making a list of the working people
living in various neighbourhoods. This list is not meant to give them some loans
but to declare them as agents of the ISI. If a person is a Muslim then it is
easier for the police to net him. … The Ramnami leftists (pseudo leftists) are
shedding crocodile tears. Once you are declared an agent of the ISI, you cannot
escape being branded a renegade to the country and a terrorist. Therefore, the
police of the ‘left’ front state has roped in 25 to 30 prisoners of North Bengal
in a case of forged conspiracy. When someone gets a bail the police picks him up
from the jail-gate, takes him to the police station, and forces him to sign a
declaration of pardon.
Whatever may happen,
we know that the people are the creators of history and the despots are thrown
into the basket. Hitler is not remembered with any reverence. The history is
embellished with the brave deeds of the red army. The people like Bhagat Singh,
Preeti Lata, Khudi Ram, Bina, Udham Singh are terrorists and renegades in the
eyes of the rulers but for the people they are brave fighters. The oppressed in
India, including West Bengal, have risen up. The waves of people’s war are
rising in all directions. You cannot stop the momentum of people’s war by
arresting a few innocent persons and by talking about development. The rulers
have sent ten thousand armed forces including the EFR and CRPF in only the
Mednipur district. The balloon of development has deflated. Nobody can stop the
people’s war!
